Inventory records don’t always match what’s actually in the warehouse. Items run out, get stored elsewhere, or small discrepancies occur due to counting errors. That’s why it’s important to regularly check your inventory and update it as needed.

In BarTrack 5.0, we’ve introduced the new Balances feature. This allows you to easily take inventory counts and immediately record any discrepancies in your system.

What is Balances in BarTrack?

With the Balances feature, you can quickly check during a walk through your warehouse whether the recorded inventory matches reality. By simply scanning the BarTrack stickers, you can immediately see how much stock is registered in the system and adjust it if needed.

How does it work?

Using Balances is simple and fits naturally with how you work in the warehouse.

Walk through your warehouse with the BarTrack app and go to Balances. Then, scan the BarTrack sticker of the item you want to check. A pop-up will immediately appear showing the current stock quantity recorded in BarTrack.

Count the actual number of items on hand. If the quantity doesn’t match, you can adjust it directly in the pop-up and then click Save.

The inventory is updated instantly, and you can move on to the next item by scanning its sticker. This way, you can quickly check and correct multiple items in a single round.

When should you use Balances?

The Balances feature is ideal when you want to check or correct your inventory. For example, during a periodic warehouse audit, when you notice an item’s stock is incorrect, or after a busy period with high material usage.

By scanning the stickers directly in the warehouse, you can resolve discrepancies immediately, right at the spot where they occur.
