New feature in update 5.0: pick lists
In practice, we see that material usage for projects and inventory management does not always align. Material is picked for a project but is...
Processing incoming orders is an important part of inventory management. In BarTrack, it was already possible to record receipts and update inventory quantities, but this could only be done online. In practice, however, deliveries are checked and put away by employees on the shop floor.
With update 5.0, we are introducing unpacking in the mobile app. This allows incoming materials to be processed directly in the correct location, with clear insight into where they should be stored.
record exactly what has been delivered,
see the location where each item should be put away,
and update your inventory accurately and immediately.
By integrating unpacking into the app, the inventory process better aligns with daily operations on the shop floor. No extra paperwork afterward — everything is handled in real time.
What is unpacking?
Unpacking is the process of recording incoming materials in the correct inventory location. All ordered items that still need to be processed automatically appear on the unpacking list. This list is available both online and in the mobile app.
For each item, the location where it should be stored is clearly shown. By selecting the item, you indicate that it has been received, and the inventory quantities are updated immediately. If an order is partially delivered, a portion of the quantity can also be unpacked.
Unpacking via the mobile app
In the mobile app, Unpacking can be accessed from the main menu. Here, all items that can be unpacked at that moment are displayed.
While unpacking, you can:
scan the BarTrack sticker on the shelf,
or select the items manually.
This way, it is recorded what has been received and where it is stored, and the inventory is updated automatically.
More efficient inventory management on the floor
With the unpacking feature, inventory management is brought closer to where it actually takes place.
This results in:
an up-to-date and reliable inventory record,
fewer manual steps,
and clear visibility of where materials are stored.
Unpacking thus forms a logical addition to the BarTrack 5.0 update, where inventory, purchasing, and usage are increasingly connected.
