Order more efficiently with BarTrack & Technische Unie

Last week, BarTrack visited three Technische Unie service centers: Utrecht, Watergraafsmeer, and Hilversum. Together, we introduced a new service: ordering via BarTrack.

At the heart of this launch were our new ordering stickers — a smart and simple way to order materials using QR codes. We also showcased other features, such as project-based ordering, ordering via lists, and stock management. In short: one platform, multiple ways to streamline the ordering process.

Our presence provided a great opportunity to connect in person with the people we build for: installers, technicians, and service professionals.

Where It Happens: Technische Unie Service Centers

To understand a tradesperson’s workday, you have to start early. In Utrecht, the first customers arrived at 6:45 AM. The same familiar rhythm played out in Hilversum and Watergraafsmeer: walk in, call out your order number, grab your items, and go. Efficiency is everything.

Still, there was room for conversation. Especially self-employed professionals and small companies took a moment for a coffee and a chat. We used those moments to explain the different ways BarTrack can support smarter ordering — and to gather valuable feedback.

Feedback on the ordering stickers was very positive — especially because of their simplicity. Scan, confirm, done. No extra steps, no hassle.

There were also great conversations about other possibilities, including:

For larger companies, the ordering process is often tied to internal systems. But among small and medium-sized installers, we saw real interest in these more flexible solutions.

Strengthening Relationships and Collaboration

A valuable part of these days was the collaboration with the Technische Unie team. Staff could see firsthand how customers responded and shared ideas for further development.

Suggestions such as drawer units with scannable stock and an in-app project planning feature are now part of our roadmap. We also connected with TU account managers and regional coordinators who are excited to help spread the service further.

A Morning Full of Insights (and Coffee)

We look back on these visits with great satisfaction — not just because we gathered leads and feedback, but because it reaffirmed that this kind of collaboration — with our customer and theirs — really works.

We now understand even better why tradespeople start their day at Technische Unie: it’s fast, familiar, and practical. And with BarTrack, it just got a whole lot smarter.
